#3 Learn How to Do the Chores

There are currently 6 main chore responsibilities in the house. Click the video link on each card to see how it's properly handled.

• Bathroom Chore

  Watch Video Guide

  What to Do:

  • Windex the mirror
  • Clean the bathtub & scrub toilet bowl/seats
  • Clean hair catchers
  • Empty garbage & sanitize handles/light switches
  • Wash sink out & wipe shower walls
  • Mop the floor
  • Remove soaps/shampoos and place outside window on holder

  Feedback / Quality Check:

  • Are the mirrors streak-free?
  • Is the toilet clean (bowl, rim, top/under seat)?
  • Is the bathtub free of soap scum and grime?
  • Is the trash emptied, bin clean, and toilet paper restocked?
  • Did I clean around and behind the toilet?

• Garbage and Laundry Room

  What to Do:

  • Empty all trash bins house-wide (replace bags/liners)
  • Rinse out recyclables and separate food waste to compost
  • Securely tie garbage bags and take to the curb/main bin
  • Wipe down exterior of washer and dryer
  • Clean lint trap thoroughly and sweep behind/under machines
  • Organize detergent bottles and sanitize light switches/handles

  Feedback / Quality Check:

  • Are all trash bins inside empty and kitchen bin wiped down?
  • Did I rinse out containers that are smelly?
  • Is the outdoor garbage can clean and not overflowing?
  • Are washer/dryer surfaces clean and lint trap emptied?
  • Did I remove clutter that doesn't belong in the laundry space?

• Kitchen Chore

  What to Do:

  • Clean the kitchen stove and hood fan
  • Wipe down countertops and shelves
  • Put all clean dishes away
  • Wipe out the inside of the microwave
  • Wash the sink, empty compost, and wash out the compost bin

  Feedback / Quality Check:

  • Did I scrub and clean the sink and faucet?
  • Are the countertops completely wiped down and crumb-free?
  • Is the trash/compost emptied and the bins cleaned?
  • Are the light switches and cabinet door handles disinfected?

• Floors (Sweep & Mop)

  What to Do:

  • Sweep and mop the kitchen
  • Sweep and mop hallways and main entrance
  • Sweep and mop bathroom, toilet room, and urinal room

  Feedback / Quality Check:

  • Is the kitchen floor clean?
  • Are the toilet room, urinal room, and handwash room floors clean?
  • Is the living room floor clean?

• Lawn Cutting

  What to Do:

  • Walk the lawn first to remove hidden rocks, metal, or paper
  • Cut the grass evenly
  • Safely clean and put the lawnmower away

  Feedback / Quality Check:

  • Is the grass fully cut without missed patches?
  • Is the lawnmower properly put back in its designated storage?
