LOCATION:
Inglewood, the most alternative of the 3 key inner city neighborhoods in Calgary (Kensington, Inglewood, and 17th Avenue) had a cute house nestled next to the Bow river. Artistic Inglewood offers restaurants, café’s, bike paths, the zoo, and access to busses and c-trains. Also, it is only a 15 minutes walk to downtown.
TRANSPORTATION:
We are 1 block away from a direct bus into downtown that connects to C-train. Our house is located right on the riverwalk, so, even in winter, you can bike to downtown in 15 minutes along the river! We have a shed for your bicycle and in the summer, we are 1 block from the bow river and 1 km from the new whitewater rapids build in 2011.
For drivers, we have street parking and you are less than 5 minutes from Memorial drive, Blackfoot trail, or Deerfoot and most likely, you will be opposite to the flow of traffic if you work out of the down town core .
This house is a working house, meaning, we all have careers that we are pursuing. We are social, but, we are not home a lot. Most of us have
University or College Degrees and enjoy the access to downtown and the quiet. We are all responsible, help clean the house, do our dishes, and do not leave
messes behind us. So, if this is you, please read on!
It took us a while, now we kind of have a house culture, a feel, a vibe, an energy and we want to keep it. It is
a culture of being fairly organized, fairly clean, fairly quiet, fairly social. It order to keep what we have, we have created some
guidelines.
I can continue to evolve, but look through them and see if it fits what you. We also have a
cleaning schedule with
AMENITIES:
- fully equipped kitchen.
- big back yard
- very fast wireless internet (turbo)
- free washer and dryer
- waterproof bicycle shed
ABOUT INGLEWOOD:
Located 2 km from downtown, and 1 km from Stampede park. It is a wonderful place to live.
Inglewood is the oldest neighborhood in Calgary. Geographically, it is located right where the Elbow and Bow Rivers meet and offers beautiful parks and bike paths along each river. Great for swimming or rafting in the summer. It has a fish hatchery, bird sanctuary, and the Calgary Zoo! Did we mention the cafes and artists? Inglewood is loaded with artistic folks and funky cafe's. We have 3 live music venues, the Ironwood, the Blues Can, and the about to open Calgary Folk Music centre. Tim Horton's tried to build in Inglewood and he was refused, sorry Timmy, the artists need a place to call there own, and for many, it is Inglewood. Must try's include Inglewood Pizza, the Iron Wood for live music, our great Chinese food restaurant, and our fantastic Italian restaurants (including Spolumbos!).
Quiet and close. Live in the innercity. Inglewood offers the best of the city and the best of nature.
We have bike paths, bird sanctuary, great access to the bow and elbow rivers,
and a kayak run. Also we enjoy great culture including live music 7 days a week (Ironwood,
Blues Can, Gravity, and the Calgary Folk Music Society). We have cafe's (Starbucks, Wild) and great restaurants (Eat Eat, Spolumbos, the cantina, and how could we forget Sugo!).
Also, we have a funky new grocery store, pharmacy, cross fit, and a swimming pool.
We have an indoor public swimming pool 5 blocks from the house. Also, we are on the bow river bike path great also for running and roller blading.
